Abstract Note

One thing that sets the Occupation movement apart from other movements is our commitment to transparancy. We put it all out on the table, the good, the bad and the ugly. To stay true to that commitment, we would like make the following statment. It has been made clear to all of occupiers, from the beginning, that the Occupy Fort Wayne movement strictly prohibits the use of any alcohol or drugs on the premises of the occupy site. Nor is it acceptable for any member to be intoxicated at the occupation site. Participants of Occupy Fort Wayne movement have done all they could to prevent the use of any non-prescription mood altering substances on the premises of the occupy site. But it is nearly impossible to monitor every person who comes in and out of the occupation site 24 hours a day. We are saddened to report that someone was arrested today for public intoxication at the occupy site. Even though the person who was arrested has been very helpful during the occupation he has been asked not to return to the occupation site. This should, in no way, reflect poorly on the general membership of the occupiers. We remain committed to our cause and to maintaining a peaceful presence at our new site at Friemann Square.
