Abstract Note
As one people, united, in Namibia and abroad we acknowledge that the future of Namibia and all countries of the world requires the cooperation of the entire human race and we therefore stand together in solidarity to express a feeling of mass injustice with all Occupy Movements throughout the world. We stand united for a sustainable environment for current and future generations. We stand united for a bright future where the needs of all people and life are met without compromising the health of any of the people and the natural living ecosystems of the planet.
We come to you at a time when industry is becoming all powerful and corporations are exerting undue pressure on the government and the people. These corporations place profit over people and the environment, self-interest over justice, oppression over equality and lies over truth. The rich become richer, the poor become poorer and the the environment is poisoned limiting day by day the hope for future generations.
In Namibia there is still an opportunity to develop in a sustainable manner that will directly provide for the needs of all Namibians- both current and future generations. It is time that we, the Namibian people stand up, unafraid to speak and call on ourselves to make this the country we dream it to be. United in pride for our great Nation, we shall make Namibia the shining light it is destined to be in the world. Let us have faith that the seemingly impossible is achievable and that we- individually and collectively- must be the change we wish to see in the world. Let us dream big dreams. Let us dream together. Together united we will never be defeated.
