Occupy Washington DC: In support of the Citizens of the Occupation, and to commemorate the occupation of Tahrir Square, our General Assembly has declared the fourth Monday in January as a day of Rest and Reflection. We invite the nation to join in the discussions and actions of your local Occupation. You can find your local Occupation on Occupytogether.org. If you support the Occupy Movement, you will not work, go to school or shop on January 23rd. If you support taxing the rich and corporations, you will not work, go to school or shop on January 23rd. If you support ending the wars, bringing the troops home and cutting military spending, you will not work, go to school or shop on January 23rd. If you support protecting the social safety net, strengthening Social Security and provide improved Medicare for all, you will not work, go to school or shop on January 23rd. If you support ending corporate welfare for oil companies and other big business interests, you will not work, go to school or shop on January 23rd. If you support a transition to a clean energy economy and reversing environmental degradation, you will not work, go to school or shop on January 23rd. If you support protecting worker rights including collective bargaining, creating jobs and raising wages, you will not work, go to school or shop on January 23rd. If you support getting money out of politics, then you will not work, go to school or shop on January 23rd.
