Abstract Note
For decades, the city of Youngstown has been economically ravaged as a result of outsourcing American jobs and manufacturing, conditions typical of other cities in the Rust Belt. We have one of the highest poverty rates in the country, and we are the third hungriest city nationwide.
We stand in solidarity with Occupy Wall St. and the 99%, and we firmly believe that if things do not change as soon as possible, the entire country will follow the same path. It has already begun in many areas.
Some of our current projects include a staffing company, a free college, aid and promotion of local small businesses, direct action to fight unwarranted foreclosure, prevention of fracking and injection well disposal, and more.
