Some of you may have noticed when you saw links for occupychi.org on facebook they have listed our website as “unsafe”. It is nice to know that facebook has partnered with McAfee to let us know what to think,
Upon investigating further McAfee has listed us as a spam site.
After going through the sign up process to “verify” our site, it requires you to get a “verification file” Which then produces:
Error Submitting Site for Verification
It appears that the Web site occupychi.org (or www.occupychi.org) is returning an HTTP 2xx or 3xx status response code in the header of 404 pages.
We cannot verify a Web site that is configured this way because it allows anyone to verify themselves as the owner of your site. Please update your Web site server configuration to return 404 status codes in the headers for pages that do not exist. Once your site is configured this way then you can return and request a file name verification.
Which is completely false, I tested this myself:
curl -s -D – -o /dev/null http://occupychi.org/3453453453453453
HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found

When trying to email them to explain the situation, the email is bounced as spam. Thus insuring there is no way for us to even complain about it to them, and then they can claim that it was our fault for not contacting them.
